Manawatu-Foxton batted first against Kapiti Old Boys at the Paraparaumu Domain and were always in trouble with no batsmen producing an innings of quality to have Man.-Fox all out after 37 overs for the paltry score of 98. Steven Thomas (28), Scott Rogers (19), Craig Adsett (18) and Hayden Marshall (12), the only batsmen to get into double figures.

Kapiti Old Boys struggled through to 41.1 overs to reach the runs required to win the game and were 99 for the loss of 6 wickets at the close.
