Batting first against Levin All Stars at Manawatu College
No. 3 artificial pitch, Manawatu-Foxton lost two early wickets
for one run and then some entertaining batting from the middle order
saw the total through to 234 all out after 41 overs. Craig
Vertongen again smashing a big score with 87 runs including 7
sixes and 6 fours. Stacey Thomas scored 31 runs, all in
singles to be 5th man out with the score at 169, Tony Tatana
(29), Steven Thomas (20) and Jason Gwynn (18) all helped with
the scoring.
All Stars had a bad day with the bat to be all out for 44 after 20.5
overs against some accurate bowling by the Man-Fox
bowlers. Wayne Blackbourn 2-10 off 6 overs, Marty O'Brien 1-10
off 5, Evan Smith 2-13 off 5 and Tony Tatana 3-11 off 4.5 over
completed the bowling attack.
A win to Manawatu-Foxton by 190 runs.
