lose by 25 runs in the One Day Final.
Fielding first
Manawatu-Foxton contained Kapiti Old Boys to 193 All Out in 42
overs. KOB after being 3-154 after 29 overs lost their last 7
wickets for 39 runs. Bowling for Man-Fox. Scott Rogers 4-46 off
10 overs, David Schlup 3-32 off 10 and Myles Sayer 2-47 off 9,
were the successful wicket-takers, the other wicket to fall was
a run out.
Manawatu-Foxton
lost wickets at regular intervals and with the the score at 6-92
if was left to the tailend to muster up some runs to try to reach
the target. Scott Rogers top scoring with 26, Josh Shields 22,
Tim Sayer 16 and Myles Sayer 7 not out saw the score through to
168 before Tim Sayer was bowled with three balls of the innings
remaining, still 25 runs short of the target. Of the top order
batsmen only Kane Duffy 21, David Schlup 14 and Tony Waugh 12
managed to get to double figures, everyone getting a start but
not continuing on to a big score.
