Old Boys elected to bat first at the Manawatu College No. 1 grass
pitch and were all out after 46 overs for 232. The best of the
Manawatu-Foxton bowlers, in the absence of David Schlup away playing
in the Representative team, was Captain Scott Rogers taking 5-48
off 9 overs, Josh Parsons bowled 6 overs to claim 3-14 and the
only other wicket-taker was Tim Sayer who bowled extremely well
to take 2-31 off his 10 overs.
The
Manawatu-Foxton batsmen batted through to the 47th over to reach
169 all out, still 63 runs short of a victory. Josh Parsons scoring
51 before being the 6th wicket to fall, Scott Rogers having a
good double with 22 runs before being given run out, Craig Vertongen
chimed in with 21, Craig Adsett 12 and Marty O'Brien 11 to complete
the batsmen to reach double figures.
