1 of round 1 of 2 day fixtures.
Winning the toss and electing to bat on the artificial
pitch at Weka Park, after being transferred from Kena Kena Park
grass pitch, Manawatu-Foxton lost wickets regularly but managed
to bat 43.3 overs to be all out for 137 runs. David Schlup top
scored batting at No. 5 with 45 runs including 1 x 6 and 5 x
4's, Mike Smith with 36, Kane Duffy 20 and Greg Manson 13 were
other batsmen to feature.
Paraparaumu started well with the openers putting on 84 runs
for the 1st wicket and after 53 overs declared at 188 for 9
wickets. The Manawatu-Foxton bowlers to stand out were Steve
Mattock with 3-26 off 8 overs, Tim Sayer 3-27 off 11 overs,
Kane Duffy 2-13 off 8 overs and Greg Manson 1-23 off 5 overs.
Man-Fox batting in their 2nd innings 51 runs behind, had 10
overs to bat until stumps and lost the wicket of Karl Read for
11 runs to be 1-22 at the close, still 29 runs behind with 9
2nd innings wickets in hand. Man-Fox need to bat well next week
to set Pram a target to chase for an outright result.
