Senior A: Playing Paraparaumu at Manawatu College No. 1 pitch, in the round 1 of the 2 day games, Manawatu-Foxton were in the field first. Paraparaumu batted well to be 182 all out in 54.1 overs. The Man-Fox. bowlers toiled hard and Mike Smith claimed another 5 wicket bag for the club with 5-29 off 12.1 overs. Steve Mattock 2-38 off 13, Tim Sayer 2-31 off 9 and Steven Thomas (promoted from Presidents Grade for the day) 1-10 off 5 overs, were the other wicket-takers.

Chasing Pram's total for first innings points Man-Fox. lost wickets regularly, Kane Duffy propping up the innings with a captains knock of 54 (1x6 and 6x4) and Manawatu-Foxton were all out after 48.5 overs for 144. Other batsmen to score were Mike Smith 13, Tony Waugh 14 and Steve Mattock 11.

A lead to Paraparaumu of 38 runs after the first days play.
